
ABOUT TULANE ROWING
Tulane University Rowing Association (TURA) is a co-ed club sport with roots stretching back to the late 1800s and a proud modern era re-established in 1985. We welcome both experienced and in-experienced athletes looking to compete at the highest levels of collegiate rowing and who want to learn, train, and grow as part of a tight-knit program.

Primary focus on sweep rowing in eights and fours, with additional small-boat racing in pairs and doubles

Seasons at a Glance

Fall: Head-race season (long-distance time trials), skills and endurance focus

Spring: Sprint season (2,000m), speed and race execution

Summer: Optional development and small-boat racing

National schedule including the Head of the Charles, Head of the Hooch, SIRA Championships, ACRA National Championships, and Henley Royal Regatta plus additional local and regional regattas

Performance Pathway
Tulane rowers and alumni have advanced to the sport’s top stages, winning medals at the Olympic Games, and competing at the World Championships, Pan American Games, World University Games, World Cups, Copa América, World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, and Coastal World Championships. The program has also hosted athletes recognized as USRowing Athletes of the Year, underscoring Tulane’s legacy of excellence across flat-water and coastal disciplines.
